Darren Goldwater

Darren Goldwater is a television and radio play by play announcer and host currently calling 70-80 televised events per year (Demo Reel). He also created and manages Nelwater Sports, a demo reel production service for sports broadcasters and athletes.

This season, Goldwater, 35, will be one of a select few to broadcast a full 12-game football package on the American Sports Network (ASN), Sinclair Broadcasting's national network available in 94 million homes. He'll also be a fixture in ASN's winter and spring lineup of basketball and baseball telecasts. In addition, he'll continue with his fifth season as the lead announcer for the Southern Conference, broadcasting the majority of the league’s televised men’s and women’s basketball, baseball, soccer, volleyball and softball events on ESPN3. 

Goldwater is also a veteran of televised high school sports. For the last five years, he was the lead announcer on a 10-game primetime package in Charleston, SC, airing on MyTV Charleston.

Before his career in television, Goldwater spent three years as the Director of Broadcasting for The Citadel Sports Network, where he was solely responsible for all radio broadcasts, sales and production for more than 80 annual events.  Prior to that position, he was a play by play announcer, Sports Marketing Director and afternoon co-host/producer for the ESPN Radio affiliate in Charleston for more than five years. 

Goldwater graduated from Penn State in 2002 with a degree in journalism. He and his wife, Heather, live in Charleston, SC with their daughter, Grayson.
